Quick updates on what we've been up to in the basement.

We're coming up on the one year anniversary of working towards my newest project.
About a year ago I had lunch with one of my best friends where I despaired about dreaming too big, and they listened very attentively to all of my thoughts and dreams and looked at my plans and told me that they thought it was doable. I, overwhelmed and not feeling particularly ambitious, worried over not knowing where to start or how to move forward and get from then to there. I had a list of about a hundred things I knew had to happen between then and the dream, but I didn't know where to start. My friend looked at my list, asked me some questions, and had me figure out what I could do now that would be putting me on that road. We identified two things:
Teach some workshops
Get a group together and devise something
So here I am a year after starting to devise something. I taught a workshop (the second one didn't have any students show up and then the Renaissance Festival came around and I lost momentum), and I got a group of friends together and we met weekly in the basement of my place of employment and now, a year later, we have a script and musicians and lyrics and ideas and an original musical that we made out of nothing more than an inspiring Instagram video.
More on that later, but know that we've hit the 3rd big milestone. Now we're recruiting more members and I'm starting a theatre company!
